Bill is an associate lawyer at SimpsonWigle LAW, practising in employment, labour and workplace law.
Bill advises and represents both employers and employees in a broad range of matters, including wrongful and constructive dismissal claims, employment contracts and workplace policies, human rights and accommodation issues, workplace investigations, employment standards, discipline and termination matters, and employment-related litigation.
Before being called to the Ontario Bar, Bill practised as a barrister in England and Wales. His experience at the English Bar provided him with a strong foundation in courtroom advocacy, written submissions, client conferences and the strategic management of disputes. Before commencing pupillage (the English equivalent of articling) Bill appeared in more than 1,000 County Court hearings across South East England as a County Court Advocate. He subsequently developed a broad common-law practice spanning civil and criminal proceedings.
Bill also previously worked as an employment lawyer at the Hillingdon Law Centre, where he assisted individuals facing workplace legal issues. His earlier experience included internships with JUSTICE, AMICUS and Reprieve.
After relocating to Canada, Bill completed his articles with SimpsonWigle LAW and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2026.
“Workplace disputes can have significant professional, financial and personal consequences. My role is to identify the issues that truly matter, explain the available options clearly and help the client move towards a practical resolution.”
“My experience as a barrister taught me the importance of preparation, careful analysis and persuasive advocacy. It also taught me that clients need more than a technical explanation of the law; they need direct advice about what the law means for them and what they should do next.”
Bill’s experience in both England and Ontario gives him a broad perspective on litigation, advocacy and dispute resolution. He begins each matter by understanding the client’s objectives and then develops a strategy proportionate to the legal, commercial and personal issues involved.
“The most rewarding part of the job is helping a client regain a sense of direction during a difficult situation. Whether the client is dealing with a dismissal, managing a sensitive workplace issue or trying to avoid a dispute, it is satisfying to turn a complicated problem into a clear and workable plan.”
Outside of work, Bill enjoys classical music, travelling and spending time with his family.
