About the service

Supporting Transitions through Generations

For over a century, SimpsonWigle LAW LLP has worked with and supported business families through transitions and organizational planning. Such transitions include succession of family members or transferring a business to non-family members.

Our goal is to work collaboratively with other existing advisors to the business family and, where appropriate, we can assist with resourcing other capable advisors through our relationships.

As the practice of advising business families has evolved, we have been a leader in the growth of professional advisory services. We continue to actively participate in this evolving field and use our learning to bring value to our business family clients.

We understand systems thinking in the context of family enterprise including use of the “Three Circle Model.” Most important, we recognize that business families have unique strengths and challenges and we are mindful of this when entrusted by our clients.

All members of our group belong to the Family Firm Institute (FFI) and to Attorneys for Family-Held Enterprises (AFHE). Kathryn Osborne holds a Family Enterprise Advisor™ designation from the Institute of Family Enterprise Advisors (IFEA).
