SimpsonWigle Law LLP is currently seeking to hire a Commercial Litigation Assistant.

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Providing clerical, administrative and general office support including organizing schedules
  • Basic familiarity with Practice Direction set by different court regions
  • Keeping track of deadlines, including filing deadlines
  • Handling all aspects relative to court processes and procedures
  • Drafting basic motion materials and pleadings
  • Maintaining files, completing filings, entering dockets and invoice preparation
  • Assembling of Affidavit of Documents
  • Arranging Examinations of Discovery
  • Other tasks as assigned

 

Required experience/qualifications:

  • Completion of a post secondary Legal Assistant or equivalent
  • 2 years legal experience
  • A solid knowledge of legal office practice, legal terminology and procedure relating to legal correspondence and legal documents
  • Knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedures
  • Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
  • Exhibit excellent commitment to client service and the maintenance of client confidentiality
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, resourceful and capable of working independently, as well with a number of individuals in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and confidentiality
  • Experience with GhostPractice and iManage would be an asset
