Bilal Mirza is a partner at SimpsonWigle LAW, practicing in the areas of residential and commercial real estate, land development and planning, and condominium law. He routinely works with buyers and sellers, builders and developers, business owners and commercial tenants/landlords, financial institutions, and condominium boards.
His diverse legal experience includes acting for government agencies as outside counsel on corporate, construction and regulatory law matters, and telecom companies as in-house corporate counsel.
“I strive to fully understand the needs and objectives of my clients – as each client file has a unique set of requirements and circumstances – and my priority is to then provide thorough, effective and contextually relevant legal advice in a timely manner. I like to present options, outlining both pros and cons, and offer guidance towards a quick, cost-efficient and effective solution.”
“My range of experience has given me a big-picture understanding of the workings of the law, both in theory and in practice, and insights that I’m able to use to my clients’ advantage.”
“One of the most satisfying aspects of practicing law is being able to do meaningful work, helping clients navigate and resolve complex issues and develop lasting relationships based on trust and confidence.”
Bilal is a longtime Rotarian, currently serving on the board of Rotary Club of Hamilton Mountain as Director for Membership Services. “It’s a great opportunity to work with like-minded people on various social service initiatives and to contribute your time, skills and resources to the community, both here in Hamilton and internationally.” With Rotary International, he has taken part in global humanitarian relief efforts in the aftermath of natural disasters, helping to rebuild homes and schools, and has been actively involved in Rotary’s End Polio Now campaign.
He also serves on the Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation’s Gift Planning Services Committee.
In his free time, Bilal enjoys playing soccer, biking and hiking on the trails in Hamilton, and the occasional round of golf.
