Cam’s area of focus is the resolution of construction disputes, both residential and commercial, including construction liens, breach of trust claims, and bond claims, regardless of whether such disputes are litigated, mediated, negotiated or the subject of early adjudication proceedings. Cam routinely acts for owners, contractors, subcontractors and material suppliers involved in construction projects of all sizes, from modest home renovations to bridges to hospitals.
Called to the bar in 2004, Cam has been a litigator his entire career and has extensive experience in commercial litigation and advocacy, a field in which experience is priceless. Cam has been a successful advocate at the trial and appellate levels, as well as in in the trenches of motions court, obtaining urgent procedural and injunctive relief for clients. Equally important, Cam has been a successful advocate in avoiding protracted litigation altogether, and has guided clients through successful mediations, arbitrations and insolvency proceedings.
“Litigation can and often will take on a life of its own. In my practice, I never lose sight of reality or the bigger picture. And while I do not shy away from a fight, I do not counsel my clients to fight just for the sake of doing so. I’m proud of my ability to explain both the law and the legal process, and to help clients make the tough decisions.”
“I knew I was on the right track when I started receiving referral calls from other law firms. That trust was appreciated. I knew I had set myself apart from the pack when I started receiving referral calls from a Superior Court Judge. That trust was earned.”
In addition to coaching basketball, Cam has been an active and long-standing volunteer director and officer of the Oakville Chamber of Commerce and chaired its Governance Committee.
