Eric is an associate at SimpsonWigle, practicing primarily Tax Law. He provides clients with strategic counsel on a wide range of issues, including objections, appeals, voluntary disclosures, and proactive tax planning.
Before joining SimpsonWigle, Eric served as a clerk to the judges of the Tax Court of Canada in Ottawa. This experience afforded him a unique perspective on the judicial decision-making process, the interpretation of tax legislation, and effective strategies for advocacy.
Further broadening his litigation foundation, Eric has worked as a Provincial Prosecutor and an Articling Student at the Crown Attorney’s office.
Eric received his Juris Doctor degree from Lakehead University and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Waterloo. He was called to the Ontario Bar in 2024.
“The Income Tax Act is long and complex. Versions containing its associated regulations and explanatory notes can approach 3,000 pages in length. This is an enormous obstacle for most people. I help my clients navigate this field to minimize their tax payable.”
“I treat my clients the way I would like to be treated. I ensure they fully understand how the law operates, and then I guide them in applying it to their personal circumstances to achieve their desired results.”
“Nothing beats helping clients save money and avoid penalties.”
