About John Loukidelis

Areas Of Expertise

John is Counsel with SimpsonWigle LAW, where he specializes in income tax law. He provides advice and representation on tax planning for owner-managers and their businesses, tax-driven corporate reorganizations, tax objections and Tax Court of Canada appeals.

John has three decades of tax law experience gained at some of Canada’s premiere law firms and a national chartered accounting firm. With that experience, John provides understandable, workable advice, not theoretical counsel that can bog down the business process.

John has written numerous articles for various publications and delivered many speeches for professional organizations including the Canadian Tax Foundation, the Ontario Bar Association and the Hamilton Law Association. He also maintains a blog on tax topics of interest to owner-managed businesses and their advisers.

A Practical Approach

“It’s important to me communicate with clients in a timely and clear manner. I work hard to avoid tax jargon and legalese.”

What Sets John Apart

“It can be challenging to provide tax advisory and tax litigation services, but doing both provides me with an important edge. I approach my planning work knowing a lot about how the CRA conducts audits and disputes. In my dispute work, I apply the expertise with the Income Tax Act that I’ve developed over my 30 years of tax practice.”

The Best Part of the Job

“It means a lot to me to be able to provide solutions to the problems my clients face when planning for their futures or when dealing with disputes with the CRA.”
