Trung is a senior commercial litigator specializing in complex, high-stakes disputes. He is frequently retained in matters that intersect multiple areas of law, including fraud, bankruptcy and insolvency, shareholder disputes, corporate governance, oppression, family, wills and estates and real property litigation.
Trung has acted as lead counsel at all levels of court in Ontario, including the Superior Court of Justice (Commercial List, Estates List and Construction Lien), Divisional Court, Court of Appeal for Ontario, as well as the Federal Court (Trial and Appeal) and the Supreme Court of Canada.
In his commercial litigation practice, Trung represents a broad spectrum of clients across industries and sectors, including government, delegated administrative authorities, banks, credit unions, insurers, energy and utility companies, telecommunications and satellite providers, airlines, supermarket chains, retirement and long-term care facilities, consumer goods manufacturers, agricultural enterprises, professionals and corporate executives. Trung has also acted for a wide range of small to medium business enterprises and business owners.
In his bankruptcy and insolvency practice, Trung also represents insolvency professionals, creditors and debtors.
Prior to joining the firm, Trung practiced for 21 years at some of Canada’s largest and most well-known firms, including on Bay Street.

For the past 21 years, Trung has committed at least 10% of his practice to pro bono work or refugees, immigrants, seniors, single-parents, clients from marginalized groups and community groups. He received the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal for his work with the Vietnamese Association, Toronto.
Trung has taught trial advocacy at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law. He has judged the Jessup international law moot competition for law students. He has presented at numerous conferences, including training law enforcement agencies around the world on civil fraud remedies.
